Our company is in an exciting growth phase where we are launching new products, expanding our team, and reaching new markets. We seek a deeply scientifically curious scientist to join a diverse, interactive, collaborative, and highly supportive molecular biology team. The Molecular Biology scientist, under the supervision of the Molecular Biology Project Leader will join our team of researchers to create new constructs that are the cornerstone of all projects within the company. In addition, this role will interact with other internal teams and partners to understand their projects and provide scientific guidance on appropriate scope of work using Integral Molecular technologies and platforms.

What you will do at Integral Molecular:   

  • Perform molecular cloning including high-throughput plasmid generation 
  • Design plasmid constructs for the expression of viral and membrane proteins in support of customer projects and for the development of internal research priorities including epitope mapping applications 
  • Design experiments and guide troubleshooting for testing expression constructs  
  • Collaborate extensively with internal teams to design and develop experiments that ensure constructs meet customer and internal requirements  
  • Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams on molecular design and plasmid construction

The successful candidate will have: 

Education 

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Virology, or a related field 

 Experience 

  • Extensive prior experience with plasmid design, construction using restriction enzyme, homologous recombination, PCR and other standard techniques  
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be highly organized 
  • Demonstrated ability as an individual contributor, as well as ability to work cooperatively within a team 
  • Adaptable to quickly shifting priorities 

Additional experience desired but not necessary:

What you will do at Integral Molecular:    

  • Offer scientific guidance to customers on product utilization and engage in scientific discussions to troubleshoot experimental results

  • Proven expertise in crafting scientific materials for expert audiences, including,  presentations, blog posts, abstracts and papers 
  •  Strong electronic literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office and bibliography management (EndNote, Zotero, etc.)   
  • History of success with troubleshooting complex scientific experiments and processes

Your role will involve isolating, enriching and identifying antibodies with therapeutic potential as an individual contributor and a valued team member.

A desirable candidate will have a background in immunology, cell and/or molecular biology with the skills to make antibody libraries and complete cell transfections. Prior knowledge of working with antibody sequences and familiarity with high-throughput automation systems is a plus!

Internships

Integral Molecular offers part-time and temporary positions to scientists looking to transition from the bench to business. Our commercial internships are open to scientists with an interest and initial experience in learning the commercial side of science. You will work with our marketing, sales, business development, and product management teams. Projects can include market research, researching new product potential, and strategic planning. Commercial internship positions are flexible in nature, both in time and location. The positions are generally not paid but have the potential to turn into consulting or full-time positions at Integral Molecular.
