Research Associate I (Job #090306). This position will involve conducting laboratory research and supporting general R&D operations at Integral Molecular. The position will involve both research and production of biomedical research products. You will be working with a dedicated group of scientists on the development and commercialization of biomedical technologies. Projects may involve cell culture, virology, DNA preparation, liquid handling automation, and cell-based assays (western blot, ELISA, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry). The position requires a Bachelor's degree in biology, bioengineering, or a related field. 1-2 years of laboratory and cell culture experience is desired. Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and follow protocols, and must be attentive to detail.
Senior Scientific Writer (Job #032816). This position will involve writing and editing peer-reviewed scientific publications regarding viral structure and function. You will be working directly with research scientists to plan, write and edit manuscripts and analyze data. Responsibilities will also include guiding a small team of writers and managing publication strategies and timelines. Other duties may include working with scientific and marketing teams to prepare materials including grants, tutorials and promotional material. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in the life sciences, excellent writing skills, high attention to detail, experience in writing peer-reviewed publications, and experience in collaborative writing. An interest in virology is considered a plus. Writing samples may be requested. Both full-time and temporary (3-6 month) positions are available.
Information Technology Specialist (Job#121121). This full-time position will involve information technology support, such as maintenance of phone and server systems and website support, for a biotechnology company consisting of approximately 35 scientists. This involves routine maintenance, new PC installations, and upgrades including hardware/software troubleshooting for 50+ computers. The successful candidate will provide website support including updates, search engine optimization, and back-end support for e-commerce. The position will also involve some database design, user interface programming, and software troubleshooting multiple internal applications used to manage complex biological data. Qualifications include knowledge of programming using C#, VBA, database/SQL queries involving Access and VB6, HTML, and CSS are helpful.
Candidates should have a B.S. in computer science or a related field, and must have at least one year of work or internship experience. Candidates should be able to operate independently in order to provide expertise and support in a primarily non-IT environment. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills in order to interface effectively with project teams. Knowledge of statistics or biology is an asset, but is not required.
Molecular Biology Scientist (Job# 052517). We seek a Ph.D. level candidate to coordinate molecular biology projects that are central to technologies at Integral Molecular. This will involve working with the molecular biology team to design, engineer and troubleshoot the creation of protein expression constructs. Applicants must be proficient in state of the art technologies employed for recombinant DNA manipulation, with experience in generating chimeric recombinant sequences, site-directed mutagenesis, random mutagenesis, codon optimization, and/or gene synthesis.
Candidates must be attentive to detail, highly organized, and have excellent skills in problem solving, and communication with team members. A Ph.D. in the cell and molecular biology fields with 0-4 years experience or equivalent is required.
